software installation - How to uninstall hplip (downloaded and installed from the HPLIP website)

I have downloaded the recommended and latest version of HPLIP

(from https://developers.hp.com/hp-linux-imaging-and-printing)

And also installed it as follows:

  1. make the script executable

  2. then ./hplip-3.18.7.run

It worked, but the installation doesn't finish completely because it wont accept the root password. Now I want to uninstall it and install a version from the apt repos.

How can I uninstall it?
