software installation - Oracle Java JDK 9 unable to install via tar

I need Oracle JDK and JRE so i downloaded tar.gz from Oracle downloads page
Extracted using tar zxvf jdk-9.0.4_linux-x64_bin.tar.gz as described here

But when i type java -version i am getting this error:

  1. Why its not working, what are the actual steps to install Oracle jdk9 properly as above steps are not working


  2. I also want jdk and jre(Oracle only) both installed via tar and accessed with java -version and JAVA_HOME set.


  3. As you can see I cd into jdk -> bin and typed java -version but its not working, I wonder why is that? this is where actual binaries lives.
