12.04 - ATi Radeon 9250 Video card not detected

I have Ubuntu 12.04 installed on a Dell GX270 Optiplex.

My computer has an Intel video card and an ATi Radeon Stealth 9250 PCI video card.

Ubuntu can only find the on-board Intel video card.

When I boot with BIOS in auto for video card; with my monitor connected to the Radeon card and the HDMI connected to a TV it does not load.

The screen on the TV says Miss matched graphics and the screen on the monitor is black with a flashing curser, or it goes the a purple screen where you can make a choice to run diagnoses.

What I am doing wrong and how can I use my Radeon video card?
